Eastern West Virginia Regional Airport Among those Benefitting from $4.5 Million DOT Grant

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — U.S. Senators Joe Manchin (D-WV) and Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV), have announced more than 4.5 million dollars in grants will be heading to five West Virginia airports.

The two senators from West Virginia are members of the Senate Appropriations Committee. They announced last week the funding will support upgrades to runway and taxiway infrastructure, a new lighting system and removing tree obstructions to ensure safe and smooth travels for all West Virginians and visitors to and from the state.

As part of the funding, the Eastern West Virginia Airport Authority will receive $182,401 to support reconstructing the taxiway lighting system at Eastern West Virginia-Shepherd Field Airport.
