City of Martinsburg cancels 4th of July fireworks

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — In a recent vote, Martinsburg City Council decided to cancel the city’s 4th of July fireworks display for 2020.

The move was made due to concerns surrounding COVID-19. The city reminds residents of its fireworks policy.

Fireworks are not allowed to be discharged within city limits, including on July 4th. Violators can be fined or face jail time.

The City of Martinsburg said in a statement “we look forward to having a fireworks presentation in 2021”.
