City and County officials meet

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — The Martinsburg Mayor, City Manager, and City Attorney met with the Berkeley County Council President, the County Administrator, and the County’s Civil Attorney, on Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2016.

The six officials opened a dialogue with regard to better cooperation and ways the City and County governing bodies can work together to find a meaningful way to fight the drug epidemic affecting the Eastern Panhandle.

Mayor Karos and Council President Copenhaver described the two and one-half hour meeting as cordial and constructive.

They indicated that they anticipate other such meetings in the immediate future.

The six in attendance said they look forward to discussing areas of common interest and benefit to the people of Martinsburg and all of Berkeley County.
