Christmas Events Planned for the Area This Week and Beyond

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — Local Christmas events are coming up – and fast!

Here’s a list so far:

–The town of Hedgesville is hosting its annual celebration this Friday (12/03) beginning at 6:30 p.m. with the lighting of the Town Christmas Tree with music, food and more! Perhaps even a visit from Saint Nick!

–Shepherdstown is Dec 4. 10:00 am Christmas in Shepherdstown — marching down German Street. Lineup starts at 8:30 am and the parade wraps up by 11.

–The Charles Town / Ranson Christmas Parade! Saturday Dec 4th, 2pm. Santa will arrive at United Bank at 1:30. Parade begins in Ranson and ends in Charles Town.

–The South Berkeley Christmas parade is Dec 5. 2:30 pm the 26th Annual Christmas Parade which steps off at 2:30 pm. Getting into the Christmas spirit, this year’s theme is “Home for the Holidays~Together Again”.

–The Paw Paw Christmas Parade will be held on December 5th at 4:30. There will be five $50 prizes for the best entry, person, or animal in the parade. You must sign up prior to the parade to enter the contest.
Line up for the parade will be at Kimble Funeral Homes at 4:00.

–The Town of Bath’s Winter Fest parade, held this year at 5pm on December 4, followed by the tree lighting in Berkeley Springs State Park.

–Martinsburg’s Christmas on Main gets underway this Saturday, December 4 from 10 AM until 7 PM.

–Harpers Ferry’s Olde Tyme Christmas will be a recurring event beginning this weekend — December 4, 5, 11 and 12 2021, in historic Harpers Ferry and will feature “Quaintly decorated streets, shops, and inns will welcome visitors to a Victorian-era holiday season. Stroll with townspeople wearing vintage attire, enjoy listening to the clop of horse hooves during a wagon ride, visit Santa and Mrs. Claus at the town gazebo, children’s entertinment and special performances. Find the perfect gift for everyone on your shopping list in a Handmade Holiday Market.
Shops and restaurants will offer extended hours and special sales,” according to their event page.

Many municipalities are offering free parking during the season. Check with the town before you go, but for example in Shepherdstown, parking meter enforcement will be suspended beginning Monday, December 13, and reinstated Monday, January 10, 2022.
