Catlett named Berkeley County Teacher of the Year

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — At this week’s meeting of the Berkeley County Board of Education, Spring Mills Teacher Rebecha Catlett was named Teacher of the Year:

Berkeley County Schools released a celebratory video about their newest teacher of the year – here’s part of what that sounded like:

In the post announcing her as teacher of the year, the school system talked about her time with Berkeley County Schools.

“Rebecha Catlett teaches students learning English as a second language at Spring Mills High School and Spring Mills Middle School. She holds a Master of Arts in Special Education, a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education, a Special Education certificate, and is a National Board Certified Teacher.”

The post went on to say Rebecha Catlett created the Multilingual Student Ambassadorship Program with 13 student ambassadors who speak 7 languages, served as a pilot teacher for the district’s middle school co-teaching program, and volunteers with Hospice of the Eastern Panhandle, Martinsburg Young Lives, Walk to End Alzheimer’s, and many more organizations.
