Berkeley County Sheriff Will Talk about January 6th Response to Daughter’s MVA

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — Residents of the Eastern Panhandle will get a chance to hear from the sheriff of Berkeley County who is under scrutiny following a family member’s crash Berkeley County Prosecuting Attorney Catie Wilkes Deligatti is requesting a special prosecutor look into Sheriff Nathan Harmon’s actions January 6th of this year when he responded in plain clothes to the scene of his daughter Carrie’s car crash on Cemetery Road outside Martinsburg.

Critics have questioned whether the sheriff’s presence on the scene influenced the investigation into the crash involving his 22 year-old daughter.

Sheriff Harmon released the body cam footage from the responding deputy as well as the call log and a statement saying he did not interfere in the investigation.

Sheriff Harmon will be a guest on this morning’s Panhandle Live on WEPMWCST beginning at 9 a.m.
