Berkeley County Sheriff Nathan Harmon Says Man Possibly hit by Gunshots Monday at Falling Waters Motel

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — Berkeley County Sheriff Nathan Harmon says an investigation is ongoing after numerous shots were fired at a Berkeley County motel, possibly striking an individual.

In a statement issued early Tuesday, Sheriff Harmon says the call came in just after 11 a.m. to the Motel 6 on Hammonds Mill Road in Falling Waters.

Callers reported ‘numerous gunshots’ had been fired. Harmon says two vehicles were struck and officers found bullet fragments on scene.

Witnesses describe the suspect as a black male with dreadlocks and a beard, believed to be in his thirties, wearing a white shirt and blue jeans. Surveillance footage from the motel show the suspect approaching another male and firing a handgun at him in the parking lot.

Harmon says the other man was possibly struck during the incident.

The suspect then fled the parking lot on foot and was picked up by a dark in color passenger vehicle, believed to be a Pontiac G6.

The possible male gunshot victim also fled the scene in a separate vehicle.
