MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — A Berkeley County man has been sentenced in federal court on a firearms conspiracy charge.
Detrick Lee Foston, of Martinsburg was sentenced Tuesday to four years of probation for his role in a firearms trafficking conspiracy according to the office of US Attorney Bill Ihlenfeld.
The 25-year-old pleaded guilty in September 2021 to one count of “False Statement During Purchase of Firearms.” Foston admitted to making false statements to a firearms dealer to purchase a .40 caliber pistol and a 9mm pistol in March 2020 in Berkeley County.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Lara Omps-Botteicher prosecuted the case on behalf of the government. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives investigated.
Chief U.S. District Judge Gina M. Groh presided.
