Arrests made in string of Thefts from Vehicles in Washington County

HAGERSTOWN, MD — A man and two juveniles have been arrested and face charges related to a rash of thefts from vehicles in Washington County that began in February.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office reports two unnamed juveniles and an adult, James Edward Childers II were arrested and charged with numerous burglaries of sheds, garages, and thefts from motor vehicles.

The sheriff’s department post said the three ” wreaked havoc across different parts of Washington County.”

The Juveniles have been charged and are not currently incarcerated. Childers is being held at the Washington County Detention Center on separate charges.

The sheriff’s office notes those arrested are not the only ones breaking in to unlocked vehicles, sheds and garages.

They remind residents to keep vigilant and report anything suspicious.
