Morgan County OES: Prepare For a Big Storm Over the Weekend

 

BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. — Morgan County Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management Director Jason Hoover is not talking snowfall amounts yet.

But he is warning folks in the listening area to “stay aware and stay prepared.”

Morgan County Sheriff KC Bohrer shared Hoover’s admonitions ahead of a storm that’s developing and could impact the region Sunday afternoon into Monday morning.

Hoover says, “Areas West of I-81/Blue Ridge Mountains will be all snow.”

He says to anticipate “perhaps a day or two of recovery time for snow and/or ice accumulation events”.

Sheriff Bohrer says the OES will not issue any “official” accumulation forecasts until tomorrow, or later tonight at the earliest.

“You will have to refresh the link, or you select a time frame,” according to Hoover. “They will not forecast totals more than 72 hours out.”

Hoover says Winter Storm Warnings could be issued tomorrow.
