HEDGESVILLE, W.Va. — A Berkeley Springs woman has been arrested after a traffic stop in Berkeley County.

The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office responded late Friday (January 9, 2026) night to a call of a possibly impaired driver traveling eastbound in the 9100 block of Hedgesville Road.

Deputy Merson located the vehicle on Hedgesville Road traveling in the area of the Rutter’s and reports seeing “multiple indicators consistent with driving under the influence.”

Deputies say they got the vehicle stopped near the intersection of Interstate 81 and saw “narcotics paraphernalia in plain view inside the
vehicle.”

The driver of the vehicle, identified as Crystal Ann Burch, 43, reportedly had a baggie containing suspected methamphetamine in her coat pocket.

A search of the vehicle yielded two additional baggies of suspected methamphetamine, one baggie of suspected cocaine, a baggie of
suspected marijuana, two Alprazolam pills, a digital scale, and packaging materials consistent with the distribution of narcotics.

Burch was placed under arrest and charged with Possession with Intent to Distribute Methamphetamine and Cocaine.

She was last reportedly lodged in the Eastern Regional Jail in lieu of a $50,000 property surety bond.
