Maryland State Highway Administration Announces Overnight Lane Closures at the I-70/I-81 Interchange beginning Thursday night.
HAGERSTOWN, MD — The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration will close a right lane on westbound I-70 and a close part of a ramp from westbound I-70 to northbound/southbound I-81 at exit 26 in Washington County at 8 p.m. on January 15.
All lanes will open by 5 a.m. Friday, January 16, weather permitting.
The lane/ramp closure will allow crews to set barrier walls for the next phase of the bridge work at the I-70/I-81 interchange.
Motorists should plan extra travel time during work.
The State Highway Administration’s contractor, Triton construction, Inc. of St. Alban, WV., will use signage, construction barrels and cones to guide motorists through the work zone.
The State Highway Administration is Serious About Safety. Pedestrians and motorists are urged to remain alert and avoid distractions when traveling through the work zone. Motorists should obey all posted speed limits. Motorists can dial #77 on their mobile devices for roadside assistance.
