MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — The St. Joseph Catholic Church in Martinsburg is embarking on a Stained Glass Window Renovation
The Church will be closed starting January 5, 2026 to allow time to prepare the church interior for the project. Lackey Hall will be closed for the duration of the project.
The construction company will stage all the materials needed for the project in the field behind the Church and begin window removal the week of January 12th. The company will remove the old windows one at a time, address any issues with the empty window spaces and install new aluminum framing. They will then install new storm windows.

This process is expected to last four to six weeks, depending on what they find when they remove the old windows.
Once this stage is completed, the stained glass company will begin to install the newly restored stained glass. An announcement from the church estimates the project ending before the weekend of Palm Sunday or the week of March 22.
During the renovation from January 5 – March 22, weekend Masses will be held at St. Joseph School cafeteria, 12pm Daily Mass will be held at the Mary’s Refuge Chapel.
