BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. — A Morgan County Animal Control officer is being credited with pulling a resident out of a burning trailer home yesterday.
The fire call came out just before 2:30 Monday regarding house fire with entrapment off Fish Hatchery Road. A Morgan County Animal Control officer happened to be in the area when the call went out and reported finding the person on the floor.
The animal control officer pulled the patient from the home and EMS took the individual to the hospital for treatment.
Crews from Morgan County and Frederick County Virginia arrived and extinguished the blaze.
Crews remained on scene for about an hour after the fire was out.

@1425 Hours today, C-Shift brothers responded to a residential structure fire with entrapment in Morgan County, WV. Morgan County Animal Control was in the area when the call was dispatched and advised the residence was “well off”. The officer was able to remove the patient from the residence, and the first due medic unit from Morgan County EMS transported the patient to the hospital. Engine 20 (Reynolds Store) was the first suppression piece on the scene with two career personnel, and they quickly stretched an 1 3/4 line, extinguished the fire and conducted a search of the residence, which was negative. As other units arrived on the scene, overhaul was conducted. Crews remained on scene for approximately 1 hour.
