MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — The National Weather Service in Baltimore has issued a wind advisory for Thursday at noon through Friday night at 7 p.m.

Among the risks, the potential for gusty winds Thursday night into Friday, especially across the higher elevations and north of US-50/I-66.

West winds of 20 to 30 mph could gust up to 50 mph. 

The area impacted, according to the NWS: 

Portions of central, north central, northeast, and northern Maryland, northwest Virginia, and the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia.

The National Weather Service warns gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects.

Tree limbs could be blown down there may be power outages.

“Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles,” the warning from the NWS continues. “Use extra caution.”
