CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. — The Jefferson County Commission is asking for the public’s input on a variety of topics, including balanced growth.
“It’s a very open ended topic and I am sure many listeners are noticing a lot of homes going up in Jefferson County.” Said commissioner Cara Keys. “One of the things commission President Pasha Majdi wanted to hit home is more forums, more town halls, more ability to have back and forth conversation.”
Right after the town hall, the commission will have their regularly scheduled 6 PM meeting. Keys added that she expected a lot of the conversation to focus on zoning.
“About 80% of the growth in our county is actually within municipalities and they have their own zoning ordinances.” Keys said. “Its a very complex issue. How do we leverage to keep up with what has happened and what has been entitled for residential growth.”
The town hall begins at 5:30 then the regular commission meeting at 6 at 393 North Lawrence Street, Charles Town, WV. 
Appearing on Tuesday’s Panhandle Live, Jefferson County Commissioner Cara Keys talked about the town hall and related topics, including the community’s response to Sidewinder LLC’s plans to build a large-scale water packaging plant at the former 3M site in Middleway.
