MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — A Berkeley County man is facing charges after a young boy died from a gunshot wound.
Berkeley County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call of a reported shooting on Needmore Road at around 7:30 p.m. last Friday, November 14th.
There the deputies found a two-year-old boy suffering from a gunshot wound. Deputies and crews attempted to save the child, but he later died from his injuries.
After investigators arrived at the scene, Zachary Allen O’Sullivan, 29, of Martinsburg, was placed under arrest.
O’Sullivan has been charged with child neglect resulting in death and was later released on a $25,000 bond.
