MARTINSBURG, W.V a. — High winds caused issues around the Eastern Panhandle Sunday
Wind threw trees into the road, knocked out power, and caused headaches on the roads Sunday in the Eastern Panhandle.
Wind gusts clocked as high as 44 miles an hour at Shepherd Field were part of a cold front moving through the area.
Early in the afternoon, a tall sign at a ROCS convenience store in Spring Mills came down onto part of the roof.
There were a number of vehicle crashes on area roadways, but there is no word on the effect of the weather on any of them.
Windy conditions began around noon and didn’t let up consistently until midnight.
