CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. — A fugitive wanted in connection to a targeted shooting in Charles Town from back in August has been arrested.

The Charles Town Police Department reports that during the early morning hours October 15th, Curtis Edward Bailey was apprehended in Baltimore, Maryland.

The morning of August 20th, CPD was called to a shooting incident in the 300 block of West Liberty Street in Charles Town.

There they found a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound.

Police say a man, identified as Bailey, had fired multiple rounds into a vehicle the victim was in.

Following that shooting, Bailey had been sought on charges of attempted murder, five counts of wanton endangerment, and felon in possession of a firearm.

Police said a the time they believed it to have been an isolated incident, with Bailey specifically targeting the victim.

The victim had been transferred to a local hospital at the time of the shooting, but no updates were released on the severity of his condition.

The Charles Town Police Department acknowledged the cooperation of multiple law enforcement agencies, namely the Mountain State Fugitive Task Force, Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force, and Maryland State Police Apprehension Team for their efforts the investigation and subsequent arrest.
