HARPERS FERRY, W.Va. — An investigation is underway following a double fatal fire in Jefferson County.

According to state police, the blaze was reported at just after 9 a.m. Tuesday at 21 Blackberry Lane in Harpers Ferry.
Troopers said the bodies of a man and woman were found inside the residence after three other family members made it out of the burning house.
The survivors are identified as Nicole Taylor, 54. She was taken by emergency helicopter to an out-of-state hospital after suffering serious burn injuries.
Her children, Christopher Taylor, 23, and Penelope Taylor, 19, were transported to Jefferson Medical Center with minor injuries.
Autopsies are scheduled for Wednesday at the state Medical Examiner’s Office for the two adults found inside. Troopers said they are believed to be family members.
State police said it’s conducting the death investigation, and the state Fire Marshal and ATF are conducting the fire investigating.
