BUNKER HILL, W.Va. — The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed that three dead bodies were found in a vehicle Tuesday afternoon.

Just minutes after noon Tuesday, deputies from the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division and Criminal Investigative Division made the discovery near Quarry Road in Bunker Hill. The deputies responded to the area following a report of “suspicious circumstances.”

A release from the department said there is no known threat to the public, but the matter remains under investigation.

Chief Deputy of Staff Eric Burnett tells The Panhandle News Network more information may be issued after next of kin could be notified.

This is still an active investigation.  The department is asking anyone with information relating to the case to contact the Sheriff’s Office at 304-267-7000.
