MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — Two men have been arrested following a shooting incident at a South Berkeley night club.

The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Department tells The Panhandle News Network they were called to Coco Loco NIghtclub off Pilgrim Street in Inwood around 2:00 Saturday morning.

Multiple callers told dispatch there had been a shooting in the parking lot. Deputies said while no people had been hit during the shooting, one vehicle owned by an uninvolved person had been hit by a single 9 mm round. Deputies on scene at the nightclub recovered one 9mm shell casing.

Other deputies spotted the suspect vehicle heading north on Winchester Avenue and made a traffic stop. There were four people in that vehicle.

A probable cause search of the vehicle was conducted, and deputies found a “large amount of marijuana, packaging materials, US Currency, and (4) firearms.”

Deputies arrested the suspected shooter, identified as Kasem Damone Humphrey, 22. He’s been charged with Wanton Endangerment, Conspiracy, and Possession with the Intent to Distribute Marijuana.

Also arrested was Clyde Cornelius Cavett, 18, who has been charged with Possession with the Intent to Distribute Marijuana and Conspiracy.

Humphrey and Cavett were placed under arrest and transported to Eastern Regional Jail to await arraignment. The other occupants of the vehicle were released pending further investigation.
