MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — A crash late Friday in Martinsburg claimed the life of a motorcyclist.

West Virginia State Police say they were called around 8:39 to the 55 mile marker area of Rt. 9 to the report of a crash
involving a motorcycle.

The driver of the motorcycle, 37-year-old Grason Burkett of Martinsburg was attempting to enter the westbound lanes of the highway from the Opequon Road on-ramp
when he reportedly lost control and crashed.

Mr. Burkett was transported to Berkeley Medical Center where he succumbed to injuries sustained in
the crash and was pronounced deceased.

The crash is still under investigation, according to the West Virginia State Police.
