HAGERSTOWN, MD — The Washington County Board of County Commissioners on Monday announced that the countywide burn ban will remain in effect.

Officials will continue to monitor weather conditions and reevaluate the ban on Friday, April 4, 2025, to determine if it should be lifted or extended further.

Continued dry conditions have kept fire risk elevated, making it necessary to keep the burn ban in place to protect public safety and prevent potential wildfire outbreaks.
All outdoor burning is prohibited, including:
— Campfires
–Open fire pits
— Burning of debris & brush
— Agricultural burns

The statement from Washington County Government advises, “Residents are urged to comply with the burn ban and refrain from any outdoor burning activities to reduce the risk of uncontrolled fires.”
