BURLINGTON, W.Va. — Now that asphalt plants are open around the Mountain State, West Virginia Division of Highways (WVDOH) road crews are embarking on an aggressive campaign to mill and fill potholes. Here’s where they will be patching Monday.  

Also in the Eastern Panhandle on Monday, paving work will commence on Summit Point Road in Jefferson County.  Other work announced recently follows:

–The West Virginia Division of Highways says tree canopy cutting operations will be performed on Swinging Bridge Road, County Route 7/3, in Berkeley County, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., beginning on Monday, March 17, 2025, through Monday, March 31, 2025. Flaggers will be in place to direct traffic. Motorists should expect delays and are advised to use an alternate route if possible. Exact schedule is weather dependent.

–Paving operations will be conducted on Flowing Springs Road, County Route 17, in Jefferson County, between the hours of 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., beginning on Monday, March 31, 2025, through April 2025. The work zone will be located from the junction with WV 51 to the junction with Finish Line Avenue. Flaggers will be present to direct traffic. Motorists are advised to stay alert and travel with caution through the work zone. Please use an alternate route, if possible. Exact schedule is weather dependent.

–The right and middle lane will be closed on northbound Interstate 81, between mile marker 7 and mile marker 9, in Berkeley County, from 7 p.m. to 2 a.m., on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, to allow for an overhead bridge safety inspection on the USAF SSgt. Logan A. Young Memorial Bridge. Motorists are advised to stay alert and travel with caution through the work zone. Exact schedule is weather dependent.
