RAPPAHANOCK COUNTY, VA — An Inwood man was injured in an accident in Virginia this week after a man driving another vehicle crossed the center line and struck his truck.

Virginia State Police tell the Panhandle News Network the crash happened Rappahannock County Virginia Monday at 12:55 p.m. on Route 522 (Zachary Taylor Hwy), half a mile south of Route 662 (Hillsboro Rd).

A 2016 Ford Fiesta driven by Gerald L. Ochs, 79, of Sperryville, VA was traveling south on Route 522 when it crossed the centerline and collided head-on with a northbound 2023 Ford F-150.

Ochs died at the scene.

The driver of the F-150, a 61-year-old man from Inwood, WV, suffered serious, but non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Valley Health Winchester Medical Center for treatment.

That crash remains under investigation.
