BERKELEY COUNTY, W.Va. — The Berkeley County Office of Emergency Management is warning residents of a dangerous wind event that could hit the Eastern Panhandle mid week.

On Thursday, March 6, 2025, damaging wind gusts of up to 50-60 mph could hit the region.

With sustained high wind gusts come the possibility of downed trees, limbs, and utility wires, along with the potential for damage to small or already-weakened structures. Be alert to the potential wind threat and take precautions now to prepare. We can anticipate the severe weather threat to begin to subside and pass out of our region late Thursday night.

The mid-week storm system is expected to pass through the region beginning on Wednesday.
