MARTINSBURG, W.Va. – In a ceremony over the weekend, Col. Marty Timko relinquished command of the 167th Airlift Wing to Col. Christopher Sigler during a change of command ceremony at Shepherd Field, The Adjutant General of the West Virginia National Guard, Maj. Gen. William Crane, presided over the ceremony.

Timko took command of the 167th AW in January 2020 and led the wing through the COVID-19 pandemic, worldwide airlift support to include aeromedical evacuation channel missions and the Afghanistan drawdown, readiness exercises and inspections and numerous national and international exercises and deployments.
Sigler steps into his new role as wing commander after serving for the last five years as the 167th Operations Group commander, according to an announcement about the change of command ceremony on the 167th Airlift Wing’s social media.
