HAGERSTOWN, MD — The Washington County Sheriff’s Department says a man was found dead in the road after having been struck by a vehicle.
Deputies were dispatched Friday (December 13) just after 8 p.m. to the area of Pennsylvania Ave, between Maugans Avenue and North Pointe Drive, Hagerstown, Maryland, for a pedestrian struck by a motor vehicle.
They found a man dead in the roadway who was later identified as Jonathan Andres Cruz, 37, of Hagerstown.
Deputies say the vehicle which struck Cruz had left the area but say in their report that the vehicle involved and the driver of the vehicle have been identified.
The roadway was closed for approximately 2.5 hours while the Washington County Sheriff’s Office Crash Reconstruction Team investigated the scene of the incident.
The investigation into this incident is ongoing; no further information is available.
