INWOOD, W.Va. — The 11th Annual Warm Hearts and Warm Hands community outreach to help local children keep warm this winter is happening this weekend in South Berkeley.

Organizer Joyce Kees talks about the event:

Kees says the idea came when she and some friends were driving around the area on a school day.

She says they were inspired to create a pop up park near Taylor’s Farm Market in Inwood where the community could bring their donations of hats, gloves, and scarves:

She says they’ve seen a need for other items, as well:

The need is greater than ever, according to the organizers, who say each item donated counts, “Please consider taking a walk in the Taylor’s Farm Market Park to place an item on the poles this weekend.”

The organization has also added an Amazon wish list to click and purchase.
