BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. — A Rabies Alert has been issued by the Morgan County Health Department
On Wednesday, the health department issued the Rabies Alert for the Iroquois Trail, Thunderbird Hill Subdivision area of Berkeley Springs WV.
The West Virginia Office of Laboratory Services notified the Health Department November 20th of a positive test result for the rabies virus regarding a raccoon from the affected area.
The announcement from the Morgan County Health Department cautions residents who think they or someone they know may have come into contact with this animal to call the Morgan County Health Department @ 304-258-6148 or Morgan County Animal Control @ (304) 304-258-6363.
Pet owners are urged to make sure their animals are currently vaccinated against rabies.
