HAGERSTOWN, MD — Police in Hagerstown say they have made an arrest in a shooting last week that injured a man.
On November 15th, Officers of the Hagerstown Police Department located the suspect in the Monday 11/11/24 shooting incident.
He is identified as Cameron Taylor Cross, age 27 of Hagerstown.
Charges included Attempted 1st degree murder, assault and numerous weapons violations.
According to HPD, “Officers saw Cross in the unit block of Randolph Ave. Cross fled on foot when he saw the officers approaching. He ran between houses and attempted to hide. One of the officers located Cross again and at that time Cross displayed a handgun, eventually dropping it. Cross then resisted arrest for over two minutes before he was placed in handcuffs.”
He was placed in the Washington County Detention Center.
He could face additional charges following Friday’s arrest.

Tonight on 11/11/24, at about 7:20 pm, officers responded to the 100 block of W. Bethel St for a report of a shooting. One adult male was struck by gunfire.
At the time of the shooting, we had three members of HPD attending a community meeting in Bethel Gardens. Additionally, there were officers in the area of Jonathan & Church Streets that heard the shots. Officers immediately responded and rendered first aide.
The victim was transferred to Meritus Medial Center for treatment. We believe the victim’s injuries are non life threatening at this time.
