HAGERSTOWN, MD — A man who police say was shot in the leg Monday in Hagerstown was shot again, this time in the shoulder early Friday morning.

Hagerstown Police Lt. Rebecca Fetchu tells the Panhandle News Network that 2:40 a.m. Friday, officers were dispatched to the 200 block of W. Franklin Street for the report of a shooting.

“When officers arrived, they located the victim, identified as Kenneth Tyrone Jackson (age 26 of Hagerstown) with a gunshot wound to his shoulder. Jackson was transported to Meritus Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.”

Officers realized Jackson was the victim of the shooting that occurred on Monday, November 11th. During that incident, Jackson was struck in the leg and treated tgen released from Meritus Medical Center.

“We do not believe the incidents are connected and each case has a separate suspect,” according to Fetchu.

“We also have reason to believe that both the shooters are known to Jackson and the incidents were not random.”

HPD is currently investigating both incidents.

Lt. Fetchu detailed Monday’s shooting report:

On 11/11/24, at about 7:20pm, officers responded to the 100 block of W. Bethel St for a report of a shooting. One adult male was struck in the leg by gunfire.

At the time of the shooting, there were three members of HPD attending a community meeting in Bethel Gardens. Additionally, there were officers in the area of Jonathan & Church Streets that heard the shots.

Officers immediately responded and rendered first aide.The victim, identified as Kenneth Tyrone Jackson, was transferred to Meritus Medial Center for treatment. He was treated and released
