MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — In its latest installment of Community Conversations, the Stubblefield Institute, in cooperation with the Panhandle News Network, brought a panel of experts together to answer the public’s questions regarding the West Virginia First Foundation and its oversight of more than $1 billion in opioid settlement funds set to come to the Mountain State in the ensuing years.

Moderator at the event, which was held at the Byrd Health Sciences Center Auditorium, was Marsha Chwalik, the news director for the Panhandle News Network.
Questions were submitted ahead of time by community members and dealt with the process through which the funds could be distributed, guardrails and legal language set forth to ensure good stewardship of the funds, and transparency.
