MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — Those who attend this 8th installment of the yearly parade honoring veterans downtown will be part of something special.
The Martinsburg Veterans Day Parade is this Saturday, November 9th.
Kathy Stotler is a member of the Community Veterans Engagement Board and the organizer of the parade.  Kathy Stotler laid out the details, saying the main viewing area will be the town square at the junction of King and Queen Streets.  101 year old Veteran Jack Myers, the Grand Marshal for the parade will be stopping at that location to sing the National Anthem.
The parade is set to step off at 11 a.m. and streets will be closed beginning at 9 a.m. according to announcement from the City of Martinsburg.
Stotler says the only year the parade has missed was one during the pandemic.
Stotler says any Vietnam or Vietnam Era Veteran in attendance will be invited to come forward. “In partnership with the United States Vietnam War Commemoration, I will be officially welcoming them home with an official Welcome Home pin.”
