MARTINSBURG, W.Va – Due to the participation of an ineligible player, the Spring Mills football team has forfeited four of its regular season wins. Following last Friday’s win over Parkersburg South, the Cardinals held an 8-1 record and ranked second in the most recent editions of both the MetroNews Power Rankings and WVSSAC playoff ratings.
Spring Mills’ schedule page on the WVSSAC website now shows a 4-5 record with previous wins over South Hagerstown (MD), Musselman, Washington and North Hagerstown (MD) now shown as 1-0 losses. Previously, the only blemish on the Cardinals’ record was a 17-12 loss to top-ranked Martinsburg that drew one of the largest crowds in Eastern Panhandle high school football history.
Spring Mills plays its final regular season game this coming Friday on the road at Hedgesville.
