FREDERICK COUNTY, VA — A crash in Frederick County, Virginia claimed three lives Sunday afternoon.
Virginia State Police say it happened just before 2 p.m. near the intersection of Wardensville Pike and Bushy Ridge Drive.
Investigators say a 2007 GMC Sierra driven by 60-year-old Donald R. Mallow of Fredericksburg, Va. was traveling west on Wardensville Pike when it crossed a double solid yellow centerline and collided head-on with an eastbound 2019 Buick Encore Essence.
The driver of the Buick, Diana J. Harman, 60, of Petersburg, WV., and her passenger, Patricia A. Gapp, 85, of Fisher, WV., died at the scene.
Mallow Jr., suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to Winchester Medical Center, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
