MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a man on attempted murder charges after an incident Tuesday.
A press release from the Sheriff’s Office reports deputies were called out at 10:38 a.m. to a call that two reported victims of a stabbing, one a 32 year old woman and the other a 37 year old man, were at Berkeley Medical Center.
Investigators were able to develop William Matthew Redman, 57, of No Fixed Address, as a suspect in the stabbing. Deputies located Redman in the area of the Economy Inn and took him into custody.
Investigators then learned the stabbing took place at 39 Nannette Drive Martinsburg, West Virginia 25401 and executed a search warrant for the residence. Deputies observed a large amount of blood in the home and were able to secure evidence of the crime.
Mr. Redman had been charged with 2 counts of attempted murder, and 2 counts of malicious wounding.
The female has been released from the hospital and the male is still in critical condition.
