HAGERSTOWN, MD — A Hagerstown teen has been charged with attempted murder after a shooting incident that injured a man Wednesday.

Hagerstown Police Lt. Rebecca Fetchu tells The Panhandle News Network officers from HPD were called to the 100 block of East Washington Street at 3:35 Wednesday afternoon for the report of a shooting.

The suspect, identified as 17 year-old Micha Ricks of Hagerstown, was apprehended minutes later in the 300 block of Liberty Street following a foot pursuit.

The victim, identified as Deangelo Rouzer, age 41 of Hagerstown, was transported to Meritus Medical Center with numerous gunshots. Rouzer is expected to survive. HPD investigators believe the victim and suspect are known to each other and the shooting was targeted.

Micha Ricks has been charged as an adult with the following:

Attempted 1st & 2nd Degree Murder

1st & 2nd Degree Assault

Reckless Endangerment

Numerous Firearms related charges

Ricks is currently being held at the Washington County Detention Center.
