UPDATE: Noon, Monday — Morgan County Sheriff KC Bohrer said “Angel Turner was located by state police in southern West Virginia in the company of a man who was apprehended and held in custody on criminal charges.”

Bohrer said no further information will be released at this time, citing the ongoing criminal investigation.

BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. — A 15-year-old girl who had last been seen Aug. 2 at her home in Berkeley Springs has been found safe.

Morgan County Sheriff KC Bohrer made the announcement Sunday.

“Angel Turner has been located in safe condition. Thank you to everyone who assisted in this investigation and especially Cpl. Hedrick who has worked tirelessly in this investigation.”

Sheriff Bohrer tells the Panhandle News Network there won’t be further statements at this time, “due to her being a juvenile and impending criminal investigation.”

Angel’s mother Carrie Michaels made a brief statement Monday morning on a social media page dedicated to the search for her daughter.

“Just a short post for the moment: Angel is found and safe!!! YAY!!!!

“We ask that you us a little time to take care of things that we need to take care of and allow us some privacy as we work through this traumatic situation.
Thank you to @everyone who has helped in any way, we are truly grateful for the prayers, well wishes, the millions of miles on feet posting fliers, the money and time to print flyers, sharing posts and so on.

“Please be considerate and not continue messaging asking for informational, it really is NO ONE’S business and I will not allow one more person to re-victimize my daughter.”

Michaels said back on Aug. 5 that she believed someone had groomed her daughter.

Michaels said she believes someone groomed her daughter. Michaels said she and Angel’s dad had taken steps to limit the ways Angel could be online. Investigators are looking at any devices they know Angel might have had access to.

“Angel does not have a history of running away. She’s a homebody like her momma,” Michaels said. “In my mind, in my heart and in my soul, this is an abduction.”
