INWOOD, W.VA- Excitement was brewing in Inwood Wednesday with the ground breaking ceremony for the new Wawa gas station, the company’s first in the Mountain State.
“We have been looking to come to West Virginia for 5 to 6 years now and that day is finally here.” Said John Poplawski, Vice President & Chief Real Estate Officer for Wawa. “Each one of these locations is a 7.5 million dollar investment. We are going to employ 140 local contractors and once we’re open, we will have 30 to 35 people working at each store.”
The Inwood location will open in the first quarter of 2025, shortly followed by locations at Veterans Highway in Ranson, and both Apple Harvest Drive and Rock Cliff Drive in Martinsburg.
The ceremony also included a $2,500 donation from the Wawa foundation to WVU Medicine Children’s Hospital.
