HAGERSTOWN, MD — Police in Hagerstown say they’ve made an arrest in a July 28th shooting that injured a man.

On Thursday, HPD Lt. Rebecca Fetchu announced Rashawd Clemente, age 31 of Hagerstown, was arrested for his involvement in the shooting.

He has been charged with Attempted 1st & 2nd degree murder, 1st & 2nd degree assault, and Numerous firearms violations.

On 7/28/24 at about 7:10pm officers responded to the area of the 300 block of Jefferson Street for a report of shots fired.

Officers then learned that a victim had been taken to Meritus Medical Center for a gunshot wound.

The 20-year-old male was later transported to R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center with what appeared at the time to be non-life threatening injuries.
