MARTINSBURG, W.Va – An arrest has been made in connection with a shooting at a Berkeley County bar earlier this month.

On July 6 around 2:30 am, Berkeley County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a 911 call for a shooting at the Green Frog Bar in Martinsburg. Upon arrival, the deputies located a male suffering from several gunshot wounds who was later transported for medical attention.

On July 31, United States Marshal Service Task Force Officers arrested 25-year-old Christion Sayyid Gill in Hagerstown, MD after an active search of the area. Gill was taken into custody without incident at a local convenience store on a warrant for attempted murder through the Berkeley County Sheriff’s office. This remains an active case under investigation by the office’s Criminal Investigations Division.

Berkeley County sheriff Rob Blair praised the work done to bring Gill into custody saying, “I am very proud of our deputies and investigators for their efforts in this case. They worked tirelessly in identifying a suspect in this heinous crime. The multi-agency cooperation lead to the apprehension of this suspect in Hagerstown, MD and we could not have apprehended this violent offender without the assistance from Maryland Authorities and the United States Marshal’s Office.”
