HAGERSTOWN, MD — The City of Hagerstown says work to flush and inspect a sanitary sewer line on Northern Avenue will require lane closures through Friday.
A press release from the city says, “Work crews from Pleasants Construction will be flushing and inspecting a sanitary sewer line in Northern Avenue. To accommodate the bypass piping that will be needed to perform the work, a temporary lane closure will be required.”
“Therefore, July 8-12, beginning at 7am each day, the right westbound lane of Northern Avenue will be closed to traffic between Fountainhead Road and Pennsylvania Avenue; the left westbound lane will remain open to traffic.”
Motorists approaching the closure will encounter cones, barricades, arrow panels, and other traffic control devices. The lane will be reopened to traffic by 5:00 PM each day, but the right turn lane onto Pennsylvania Avenue will remain closed continuously until July 12.
Westbound emergency vehicles will be able to pass through this section of Northern Avenue, but dispatchers should be aware that some congestion and traffic delays are likely.
Please contact the City’s Wastewater Division at 301-739-8577, ext. 674 if you have any questions regarding this advisory.
