INWOOD, W.Va. — The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office says a man was caught letting dogs out of their kennels at an Inwood animal clinic.

July 5th, just before 4:00 in the morning, deputies responded to a burglary in progress call at the Inwood Animal Center, 7611 Winchester Avenue, Inwood.
The caller told police the subject, later identified as Thomas Isaiah Renzy, 27, of Martinsburg had illegally gained access to the building. When officers arrived, they reported seeing the suspect inside opening doors to the dog kennels and letting the dogs loose inside the building.

Eventually Deputy Snapp and Corporal Simerly of the West Virginia State Police, were able to take the suspect into custody as the suspect opened one of the exterior doors.
They say he had a strong odor of “an alcoholic beverage” on his breath.

Renzy has been charged with breaking and entering and released on a $30,000 bond.
