Berkeley County
Berkeley County government offices will be closed Thursday, July 4, 2024 in observance of Independence Day. Contact the Berkeley County Commission office at 304-264-1923 for more information.
Martinsburg
–City of Martinsburg offices are closed on Thursday, July 4, 2024 in observance of the Independence Day holiday.
Thursday’s garbage will be collected on Wednesday, along with recycling. Friday’s collection is not impacted by this holiday.
Jefferson County
Offices and Courts will be closed.
Charles Town

Shepherdstown
Town offices will be closed.
Shepherdstown holds its annual 4th of July parade & picnic. Parade begins at 11 am on German Street. Picnic at Morgan’s Grove Park at noon. Free entry. Organized by Rotary Club for family fun.

County Offices and Courts Closed
Town of Bath
The Town of Bath and Berkeley Springs Offices will be closed Thursday July 4, 2024 in observance of the Holiday. Trash will not be collected that day. Please set your Trash out Tuesday evening or Wednesday morning for collection Wednesday. If we miss you, please call the office and we will collect if Friday. This should only affect residential customers. Commercial pickups will be Wednesday and Friday as normal.
Washington County, Maryland
In Washington County, in observance of Independence Day, Washington County Government offices will be closed on Thursday, July 4, 2024. County services will operate as listed below:
- The Hagerstown Regional Airport administrative offices, and the maintenance department, will be closed on Thursday, July 4, 2024, and reopen on Friday, July 5, 2024.
- Airport Terminal Operating Hours:
- Thursday, July 4, 2024: 7:00 am – 10:00 pm
- Allegiant Air services will continue as scheduled on July 4, 2024:
- 3:50 pm arrival and 9:08 pm departure for flights to Tampa/St. Petersburg Airport (PIE)
- 8:18 pm arrival and 4:40 pm departure for flights to Myrtle Beach International Airport (MYR)
- Washington County Environmental Management offices will be closed on Thursday, July 4, 2024. All services at Forty West Landfill, and all other transfer stations, will be closed on Thursday, July 4, 2024. All services will resume on Friday, July 5, 2024.
- Washington County Transit Services will be closed on Thursday, July 4, 2024. All services will resume on Friday, July 5, 2024.
- Essential public safety services will remain in effect.

TRASH, RECYCLING & YARD WASTE ADVISORY: Independence Day
All residents of the City of Hagerstown should note that Thursday, July 4 is designated as “Independence Day”. There will be NO collection that day and the landfill is closed. Therefore, trash, recycling and yard waste that is normally collected on Thursday and Friday will be delayed ONE DAY.
As always, set trash, recycling, and yard waste at curbside after 4:00 p.m. on the appropriate set-out days.
