KEARNEYSVILLE, W.Va. — A Martinsburg man has been arrested after allegedly going into a local Credit Union, grabbing money off a counter and fleeing.
The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Department says 43 year-old Daniel Keith Sandlin has been charged with bank robbery after the incident June 27th at the Martinsburg VA Federal Credit Union at 297 Charles Town Road in Kearneysville.
The call came in just after 1:00 Thursday afternoon. Employees of the bank were able to give investigators a detailed description of the suspect and the direction he was traveling as he fled.
BCSD Criminal Investigators happened to be in the area and located the suspect in the area of Blairton Road.
Shortly after, Sandlin was apprehended on Eagle School Road without incident. Deputies say he was found with the stolen money in his pocket and was wearing the same clothing worn during the robbery.
Deputies used video footage from the bank of the event as part of the investigation.
No weapon was displayed during the crime and no one was injured.
Sandlin has been charged with bank robbery and was last reportedly lodged in the Eastern Regional Jail on a $50,000 bond.

The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Department’s Criminal Investigation Division personnel were in the area working other investigations and were able to search alternate routes for the suspect. Deputy Weidman with CID was able to locate the suspect in the area of Blairton Road while in her unmarked BCSD vehicle. Deputy Weidman began following the suspect and relay locations as other Deputies were traveling to the area to assist. Shortly after, Deputy Weidman was able to apprehend the suspect on Eagle School Road without incident. The suspect was identified as Daniel Keith Sandlin. Investigators then traveled to the bank and secured video footage of the robbery. Mr. Sandlin was found with the stolen money in his pocket along with wearing the same clothing he was wearing during the robbery. No weapon was displayed during the crime and no one was injured. Mr. Sandlin was charged with bank robbery and remanded to the Eastern Regional Jail on a $50,000 bond.”
