CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. — The Jefferson County  Board of Education met Tuesday evening. Members heard an update from Deputy Superintendent of Operations, Joyce White concerning the Ranson and Shepherdstown Elementary Construction progress, which revealed one school will be ready for students in January of next year, with the other ready for the 2025-2026 school year.  Here’s what her report sounded like, as brought to us by our reporter Al Gaige:

The Jefferson County Board of Education has spent the last few months discussing how to compensate teachers who cover classes during what should be a planning period.  Superintendent, Dr. Chuck Bishop outlined the plan.

The Board approved the 1/6th pay idea.
