MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — There’s a new spot for the Berkeley County Assessor’s Office.
Assessor’s office business will now be conducted in Suite 106 on the first floor of the Berkeley County Administration Building at 400 West Stephen Street, according to a press release from the Berkeley County Commission.
“The move of the Assessor’s Office is part of a comprehensive public accessibility-focused project for the Berkeley
County Administration Building. The relocation of various county departments and agency offices during the
renovation project has been guided, at least in part, by the volume of public engagement that each office typically
receives,” according to the announcement.
Other county agencies that have relocated with the aim of improving accessibility include the Berkeley County Fire Service Board, Berkeley County IT Department,
Berkeley County Sheriff’s Tax Office and the Berkeley County Fiduciary (Wills & Estates) Office.
“Additional offices scheduled to relocate to the First Floor of the Administration Building in the coming weeks
include various divisions of the Berkeley County Clerk’s Office, including Document Recording, Civil Service and
Vital Statistics, and the Berkeley County Emergency Ambulance Authority,” according to the announcement.
The project includes a new 600-square foot addition to the building and renovation of about 42,000 square feet of the
building.
