MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — There will be major road disruptions beginning Monday in the city of Martinsburg.  King Street will be closed in both directions for thirty days as part of the ongoing work around the Interwoven Mills Project.  The project will impact King Street in the areas of South Tuskegee Street to Tennessee Avenue.

The City of Martinsburg made an announcement about the work Wednesday:

April 29, 2024, W. King Street is scheduled for closure and a detour for approximately 30 days – weather dependent – from S. Tuskegee to S. Tennessee Avenue. This closure is to allow for major utility work and infrastructure replacement work from Elijah Street to Valley Avenue (underground utilities, sidewalks, repaving, etc) serving the Interwoven redevelopment project.
We certainly realize the inconvenience and appreciate your patience. With the extensive amount of work, excavation and equipment required to perform the work, it is not safely possible to keep one lane open.
The detour will be posted with signage.
